Our Children

Be Brave Bears is a charitable organisation run by volunteers who send personalised keepsake bears to children who are terminally ill or have life limiting conditions. Each of our bears is sponsored by businesses, groups or families, meaning these bears are free of charge to the children. Once complete each bear is placed in a special keepsake bag and given to the child complete with a numbered certificate. Once the child has received their bear the sponsor will receive a thank you photograph via e-mail of the completed bear and a sponsorship certificate with the name of the child who you have sponsored. Each bear is allocated a number and will appear on our Roll of Honour. If the child on this page has already been sponsored, but due to the timing of the previous sponsorship it has not yet been removed from this area, your sponsorship will be automatically allocated to the child next on the list (Priority order). This seldom happens but we must highlight that it can occur.

Ellzah Ivy Burgess’s Medical condition...

I was 39 weeks when I went into labour with ELLZAH thinking what was going to be a healthy labour of the out come of a healthy baby, we was very very wrong, after birth Ellzah was taken away from me as she has breathing problems, ended up down in NICU which no one could tell us the reason off. A few days into her stay in NICU we fund out she had meningitis which was causing the breathing, 7 LP to make sure there was no other infections, our poor daughter was on machines that was breathing for her. On the following weekend we was told we could take her home as she no longer had anything.. over the moon of course.. a few weeks went past we noticed that Ellzah would start going limp and floppy numours hospital visits we found out in alder hay it was down to Ellzahs body having a infection but Ellzah had very little white blood cells, which means everything Ellzah get she gets 10 times worse because her body cant fight them. So we have over us every day that the chances of Ellzah having cancer as a kid is alot higher.. we hope every day she catches nothing. Until Ellzah is 4 years old there isnt any medication she can have as it can stunt her growth. Please pray that she stays healthy ?
